Sweet Tomato Basil and Margherita are Ragu's newest flavors. I often use their products and I am currently in mourning for their primavera sauce. Can't find it anywhere. I have however tried their two newest flavors.
Nothing spices up a lame pasta dish like a new sauce. The sweet tomato basil was a hit. My husband is into the traditional meat sauce, but I like to switch it up. We had penne pasta noodles, sliced grill chicken with roasted bell peppers and the sweet tomato basil sauce.... Let's just say this dish may become part of the regular rotation.
The Margherita sauce was a hit with me and my husband (I used it in my spaghetti). My daughter however, told me she didn't like it, she preferred pasta salad. (She is 3.) I wouldn't put too much stock in her opinion because she is going tinot her massively picky eater phase. I loved the sauce and it had a nice robust flavor. I would give it a 4.5 out of five. For more information about Ragu's new sauces go to http://www.ragu.com. And for reviews of many of the products we like to use and a mom's perspective, go to http://www.momcentral.com

Washing and Drying made Greener (electrolux Blog tour)
Growing up, I was used to having to hang the clothes up on the clothesline. I often tell people that my family was green long before it was "fashionable." However, I don't have that luxury anymore because I moved to the "city" and I live in an apartment.
Having an ecofriendly washer and dryer is definitely a priority. How often do we say that saving the planet seems to be expensive... All the time. However, it is imperative that we spend the upfront cash to make sure that we have a safe clean environment to pass on to our children. With that being said, electrolux has a solution:
Electrolux and Kelly Ripa have teamed up to introduce an eco-friendly front-load washer and dryer in a truly vibrant shade – “Kelly Green.” The new limited edition shade, an upbeat green designed to pack a visual punch, was inspired by the great outdoors and self-proclaimed eco-Mom Kelly Ripa. Here’s a quote from Kelly herself: “I love green … the color green and the act of living green,” said Ripa. “What better place to make a simple, every day difference than in the laundry room? Kelly Green is a gorgeous shade, and just by using the new Electrolux high-efficiency washer and dryer you can save energy and use less water. How green is that?” Just in time for Earth day, Electrolux kicks off its virtual flower garden campaign to drive awareness and raise funds for Global Green USA. Starting today, when you go to http://www.electroluxappliances.com/ and plant a virtual flower for a friend, Electrolux will donate $1 to Global Green USA to support their healthy green schools initiatives across America. Everyone who logs on to the site and plants a virtual flower will be automatically entered for a chance to win a new eco-friendly Kelly Green front-load washer and dryer! In addition, Mom Central will be giving away one eco-friendly “Kelly Green” washer and dryer set to a member of our community! To enter, simply go to http://www.momcentral.com/blogs/win-a-kelly-green-electrolux-washer-a-dryer.html and (1) tell us which flower you planted on the Electrolux site and (2) share your own “laundry tips” for saving time and energy. Mom Central will pick one lucky winner in a random drawing from all entries received!

Subversive Vegetable Propoganda (Veggie Adventure Blog Tour)
Now I don't know about most mom's but I have had the misfortune of trying to get a child to eat vegetables. Making veggies into shapes, sneaking veggies into snacks....etc. It is quite time consuming. I have noticed that if my child sees something on the television or the computer she automatically wants it! So thanks to the folks at Hidden Valley Ranch, I have a new way to subliminally push vegetables! Yay me. Visit http://www.loveyourveggies.com/games to play games.
First you grow your vegetables. You have to shoot water at the insects in order for them to leave the veggies alone. You can't use too much water or you will run out. The next game requires you to drive your veggies to the kids in time for their snack. Did I mention you do that with a tractor? I am a country girl so that was right up my alley. You have to drive and not hit bumps in the road or animals. If you don't, guess what? you lose veggies, and you have to do it in a certain amount of time. This is so cool. Unfortunately, I have yet to get past the driving test in time. Next stop the kitchen.
The games are fun and I would highly recommend allowing your child to play them with you. It puts vegetables in a positive light.
In addition, the loveyourveggies site does offer some printable activities as well. Try this site out on your finicky vegetable eaters.
